THE HISTORY OF ISLAMORADA FISHING
| Capt. Ron Wagner of Islamorada wrote about the early history of Florida Keys fishing. The amazing catches pursued by savvy guides and some renowned personalities, including some world records, helped make Islamorada become known as the Sportfishing Capital of the World. Even presidents got out on the water to go fish. Read Wagner's story pasted in below, used with his permission. (At right: Bonefish by Tim Borski, www.timborskiart.com) |
